Caravan Park in Serpentine-Jarrahdale, Parks in Serpentine-Jarrahdale

Scouting is about helping young people being the superior they can be, developing all facets of life so they can grow to become constructive citizens in their communities. Fun, challenge, adventure and lifelong friendships await those girls and boys, men and women who unite Scouts. Learning life skills, growing in self confidence and gaining prized leadership and team skills are all portion of the Scout program. Our program is delivered by Nationally accredited trained leaders in safe, but tranquil adventurous, environments. Young boys and girls, men and women can progress through the five Scouting sections Joey Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, venture Scouts and Rovers or can begin in any section depending on their age.

Scouting is born of an idea the idea of a man who was a national hero of his time. The fact that now, more than 100 years later, Scouting continues to grow is testament that his was one of the huge ideas in history. A lengthy serving soldier of immense standing, Robert Baden Powell was fed up with man's constant habit of making war. His idea? Although not the term impaired at the time, Scouting can be described as the world's first and biggest peace movement. References are also provided for further reading.

For children and young people Scouting is about having fun, new adventures and experience and making friends. Children and young adults aged from 6 to 25 can join at any stage of Scouting and participate in a program that encourages them to grow through adventure by experiencing fresh challenges, making new friends, building confidence, taking responsibility for themselves, and being provided with opportunities to explore their own abilities and interests. A trained Joey Scout Leader guides a Joey Mob of up to 20 boys and girls as they learn to share and care for each other in a social environment. The Joey Scout Leader, who undertakes notable training, may be a parent of one of the Joeys and will have an Assistant Leader to help them. Joey Scout Mobs visit each other, share activities and have great fun. Being the parent of a Joey Scout can be as much merriment as being a Joey Scout yourself! Of course, parents that stay often join in the merriment and have a great time too! Meet Sarah, a Joey Scout Leader who has been a member of Scouts WA for 5 years. We have had so many adventures together and tried things we would never have without the opportunities of Scouting. Cub Scouts all aid each other, and try to help other people too. Everyone gets the opportunity to be a Leader in Cub Scouts. They work in their 'Six' and help their Leaders plan what they would like to attain and what they would like to do as a group. There are four groups of Achievement badges. Of course parents that stay often join in the merriment and have a great time too! Scouts are provided with the opportunity for personal growth through challenging, interesting activities that face their needs. Weekly meetings plan weekend adventures, work as a team, have a say in decision making, become a Patrol Leader or Assistant Patrol Leader and help plan the Scout Program. Opportunities for leadership experience for the Patrol Leader. Trained Leaders and Assistants volunteer their time to run venture Units. venture activities include weekly meetings where you can make friendships, prosper group labor experiences and produce leadership opportunities. The venture Award is gained by participation and is a huge way for the individual venture Scout to achieve an Award based on personal superior and challenge through activity areas. To attain the ultimate in Venturing, total all 13 venture Award activity areas and any four at Queen Scout Level (1 per area). Many venture events are designed to offer young people an opportunity to thrive their independence and take piece in adventurous activities away from their parents. The people in these roles deal with the management of Groups and Districts, and are there to support the Youth Leaders. If you are interested in becoming a Youth Leader in the Group your kid attends, you can discuss the joining process with your Group Leader.
